[ASSET Foundations]

Course Description
ASSET Foundations is a two-day course that provides a broad overview of core simulation concepts and principles to novice and intermediate simulation educators.  This interactive and immersive course provides a mix of didactic, small group and simulation-based activities.  By the end of the course, the participants will be able to design and run their own simulation, and feel comfortable facilitating the debriefing session that follows. Objectives
1) Participants will be introduced to the following simulation education concepts and understand their importance and relevance to simulation-based education:

  • Experiential Learning
  • Creating Realism
  • Prebriefing  and Debriefing Learners
  • Effective Teamwork Skills
  • Scenario Development

2) Participants will also get hands-on and guided experience with the following:

  • Prebriefing and Debriefing Learners
  • Scenario design
  • Facilitating a simulation session

Target Audience
Simulation facilitators with little to no formal experience.
